sky boxes on ebay

lads sky plus box is really pissing me off, wont record rewind pause etc, was looking on ebay and you can buy boxes there, what would be the story with these, would they work here etc

record etc will only work with a valid sky sub.

yea paying every month, its the box thats wrong, say if i record channel 4 i cant watch any channel except whats recording, it wont rewind pause or play anything, and if left on stand by it has to be plugged out and in again

Have you two feeds going into the back of it? This allows you to change channel while recording another

the ebay boxes should work grand. You will have to phone sky to get your card paired to the new box. Thats no problem though

I'm having the same problem.Cheaper to get new install than repair.It's not the box its the reception

I'd advise you to ring up and cancel your sub and tell sky the reason why is the box is not working and you cannot afford to get it fixed, theres a fair channce they will offer you a replacement.

Its most likely to be main board or hard drive. The OP has a picture so reception on at least one feed is ok which would allow live pause which is not working. That your box is perfect has little relevance.

Forget eBay if you're looking for second hand Sky+ boxes, our very own adverts.ie offers far better value for money and usually you can find one in your locality so
A. You don't have to pay for postage
B. Can see it working first!
