    Have not used one, but:

    Pro:
    Stupidly fast and flat shooting.
    Velocity advantage over .25-06 Rem.

    Con:
Won't actually do anything the .25-06 doesn't do, since it's plenty flat-shooting already.
Will eat barrels like nothing else.
Will kick more and be louder than the .25-06.
Factory ammo will be rare, and doubtless expensive.

The .25-06 is very fast and flat shooting already. If you want to shoot something with no demonstrable practical advantage over the .25-06, and pay a lot more in terms of money and barrels for the privilege, then it's a good idea. If not, and you want to shoot a .25 calibre bullet between 100 and 120gr at 3000-3300fps, buy a .25-06.

i have a danish friend who had a custom one ,mad accurate thing .

he used to stalk with us from late sep till mid nov and again after christmas ,taking clients out and culling .
this went on for a few years until one year he arrived over with a styer 270 .

i asked him what happened to his .257 .his answer was, the 270 is the most popular hunting cal in the world for a reason .

the 257 is something you would like to fondle from time to time, buy not the right stuff to bring home to meet mother.
