Salary review help

    Hi,

Newly qualified ACA, working in a small practice (<10 employees).
The boss wants to keep me on, and i'm due a salary review this week. I know i'm going to be asked how much i'm looking for, and to be honest i've no idea what to say.

I'm on 28K at the minute.

Are there any others out there, newly qualified, in small practices, or whatever, who'd care to share their salaries? Obviously, i'm not going to march in and demand 50K in the current environment. Any realistic suggestions? I could well live with 35K!

Have a quick look at jobsites and most up to date salary surveys issued by HR companies and ACA/ACCA. Give yourself a good indication what your expected salary range should be.

Again, you have to justify your salary not only with your qualifications but your duties, responsibilities, skills and knowledge.

Based on my own experience, I was told first my new salary everytime I was reviewed - then I went asking for what I just and justified it!
