Looking To Hold A Small Event

Hey guys, wonder if anyone can help me out with this. I'm looking to hold a small event, maybe 50-100 people. I'm guessing the best way to go about this is get a function room and rent equipment but I'd be looking to charge a small fee. (around €5-€7.50)

I emailed a few clubs as it seems it would be easier to have it there with the equipment and all but none of them emailed me back. Nice and professional, advertise on your website that you're for hire and not even email back.

Anyone know good function rooms that are cheap? Preferably one that isn't upstairs from a pub as the music is going to be very loud.

That dive at the top of O'Connell st. should sort you out. Used to be Frazers.

If the club has it advertised that they are open to private functions etc maybe try calling them and following up. That is if you are set on organising a night.

Maybe they couldn't feel the emphasis you had on the night in your email. Just a thought.

How long away is the night you have in mind taking place?

I was planning to have it in the middle of June, after the Leaving Cert and all.

Function room in the Russel Court Hotel'd be perfect for you I'd say. It's cheap enough, and you can often get free food included in the price. Just get a set of active speakers and you're sorted.

Otherwise yeah, Murray's on O'Connell Street, downstairs in the Turk's Head, etc. There's a few threads in the Dublin forum about small function rooms.

If its a post leaving cert event, dont tell the clubs you contact that.

No club in their right mind will allow a Leaving Cert event unless its specifically a no drink/all ages kind of shindig
