Anyone else picked this up ?
It a pretty nice extension to the original Mount and Blade with more quests etc.
Plus a nice multi-player capability as well. Be nice to know if there are any other irish players.

Well worth a look at only 30 yoyo's on steam and cheaper still from the home page

Ooh, I'd forgotten about this. Must pick it up soon. Multiplayer horseback battles = fun++

Picked it up on steam and have to say I'm blown away.

Graphics are grand for me (actually I think they are pretty great)

Game play is amazing ... its the kinda game I could just play over and over

There are a few minor bugs I've come across but I can live with them ... now I just have to stop creating new characters all the time and going different routes with it :D

I've no attempted the multiplayer side of things yet .. and no idea if I will .. the AI is pretty decent for me so :)

EDIT: .. is there a map for it somewhere (its one thing I find quite annoying) had a bit of a check online but haven't really seen anything
Wonder if the boxed version comes with one ?

Downloading it now. I've been playing the original since back when you could pick it up for 5 punts!

    Absolutely love it, still do.

Watched some vids on youtube and 95% of them was footage of mounted guys just running around in circles swinging a sword.
Please tell me theres more to it.
    Are there pve quests?
Are there rpg elements to it?

A big part of it is the action :) ...

You can dismount .. have your horse killed ... lead bands of men ... recruit men .. mercenaries ... lay seige to castles ... have characters join your party ... have relationships ... build ties .. gain vassalage ... and so on

There are sub quests ... seem to be involving combat to some extent .. find x .. do x to them ... :) save the day ... track bandits back to the lair ... develop party skills ... tracking / speed / and so on ...

Your country / state can go to war with people as well ..

All in all I love it :)

There seems to be a group working on a Map of Europe mod as well for it which would be cool but if they are doing it part time .. hell of a lot of work there .

Best bet is to download the demo and play it to the end, see if you like it.
Most of what you can do is accessible at levels 1-7, as in there's no restricted areas etc, you get to do combat, you can start interacting with nobles, politics etc.

Basically, you should get an idea of whether or not you'll like the rest of the game.

Sounds like a plan, am i right in thinkng the demo is not for warband?
Will i still get the jist of the game?

Yeah, most def. Even if there isn't a war band demo you.Ll get the idea. Tbh, warband is more a expansion than a sequel. The original has everything arguably just in less depth.

    Edit: Writing from phone. :P

Tbh, if you do decide to get it, don't bother buying the first, there's really no need. Most if not all of the mods are currently being ported to the new version, which shouldn't take all that much time since it is pretty much the same engine etc. There's been a bit of upset over the relatively small amount of improvement between the two actually, someone who owns M&B is pretty much paying €30 for multiplayer, since a large part of what is new to Warband was in various mods anyway.
Absolutely new stuff is the hard coded politics stuff, the romance stuff, and some of the caps and coding structures that were removed or changed. Afaik the code is now a bit more efficient for mods to play with and some stuff that had hard coded limits is now more expandable.

might add seems 3 quid cheaper via http://www.taleworlds.com/main.aspx who are the devs I presume its the download version as well ) so thats 26 quid

Yep, but afaik the devs download can't be attached to Steam. I couldn't seem to find any information at least which usually points to the negative. €3 for not having to worry about keys, patching etc is pretty good for me. :)
