    Hi all
Looking to change my car again in next month or 2 and looking for some advice from boards crew :) At the moment i am driving a Skoda Octavia vRS Diesel. 170 Bhp :) Milage will be around 30,000 Km a year.

the criteria for the replacement car is as follows
    1) Diesel prefered but petrol not ruled out.
    2) Saloon or Hatchback with large boot space and easy access to the boot
    3) upto 2 years old
    4) a car with a bit of get up and go :)
    5) Importing considered :)
    6) Budget is 10-12K with my car. (havent got a trade in price yet for the car still at an early stage of the looking :) ) Can anyone tell me the book price? PM me if you can :)

At the moment i am looking at the following
Another vRS Octavia, Audi Avant, BMW 3 or older 5 Series Touring.
    Any other recommendations?
    Thanks in advance.

what year is the VRS, so we can guesstimate the trade in value? :D

VRs doesn't make the book, closest is a 1.9Tdi Ambiente

    2007 with 85k is €11,000
    2008 with 58k is €13,450

Don't foget the cost of the car has come down substantially since you bought it - got the invoice for one last week and it cost less than the Wife's 2 year old, V50 1.8SE when we bought that in 2007 :( or :D not sure

Yeah the vRS is down over 4K from list price a couple of years ago. Thats why im looking at 1-2 year old cars rather than new :)

Trade in of around €15k I'd guess. Pushing a good deal should put you in to a brand new one, or at least an ex. Demo

    15 + 11 = 26k

Plenty of go in this one :P
    SEAT Leon 2.0 DSG

Or better still, buy another VRS

You won't get any '08 Audi / BMW for 10k plus your car...

By far the cheapest is to keep your car and drive it for several more years. Or maybe nearly within budget: a brand new Skoda Superb?

Thats a definite find alright, especially at €22500 for a cash buyer :) but it sadly fails my roomy boot requirements :(
What does the seller mean by "A "D" PLATE" ???

That Leon is an FR so you would want to ask where the 240BHP is coming from (remap?).

    I did ask
He was told when he bought it that it was a 240.
I corrected him by telling him it was a 211.
He said I was very possibly right as the Dealer he bought it from was in financial difficulty so he bought something like 11 cars off him. Dealer told him it was 240. he didnt know so believed what he was told.
Car is brand new but will be coming with a Dublin reg.

My car sales guide lists the power at 200bhp:p

It also lists the new cost of a Leon FR DSG as €25,095 - so much for €32,000!

€630 a year to tax isn't great, but not soo bad.

I was only going by this >>
    Carzone

isnt that €25,095 only temporary though for existing stock?

    Facelift got a power boost.

There's so many different prices being quoted for the last of the current stock at the moment. Hard to know what they are going for. Serious value used too

Don't have January's book to hand, but the price has been 25,095 since Feb. Carzone hasn't updated since January.

I'd presume that is existing stock anyway (older version of the engine with 197/200bhp - newer model gets the update to 211bhp).
