Well done you and congratulations. My daughter got a job after a year and is delighted but she is seriously over qualified for the job and has no poss of getting a job in her field. Do you mind me asking you if this job is appropriate to your qualifications or is it just a job.

I too want to share some good news...I just got offered a job this morning and I am starting on Monday! I am abs thrilled, I have been unemployed almost a year, and job hunting for longer than that, so it is lovely to finally get something! It isnt in my field at all, and its a major salary cut, but to be honest I really dont care, someone has finally taken me on, there is room for progression in the job, so I am happy out.

Keep plugging away everyone, there is hope out there I promise

Fingers and toes crossed for you Brian! I found the job through fas.ie. I was checked it regularly over the past couple of months. It is swamped with WPP jobs, but there are some other ones on there too.

Cant believe I am actually starting into a job on Monday, its is going to be a major shock to the system...but a good one!

Very best of luck in your search, hopefully something will come up for you. I know its hard but stay positive!

That's brillant. Great News. I think things are looking up - I certainly hope so it seems a lot of you out there are unemployed as was my daughter until Feb. It's absolutely great to get a job after all that time.

It really is! I see from your previous post that your daughter recently got a job that she is seriously over qualified. I too an seriously over qualified for the job I am starting, and have taken a serious salary cut. But there are absolutely NO jobs in my field, and there are not going to be any for the very forseeable future. I am hoping to start at the bottom and work my way up with the transferable skills I do have from my previous experience. At this point after being unemployed for so long I am just glad to have been given an opportunity of a job somewhere, with a bit of room to progress in the future.

Best of luck to your daughter, I hope it all goes really well for her!
