Clock Radio - FM RDS time still in Winter Time

My Roberts clock radio displays the time from the FM or DAB radio signal here in Limerick.

While the DAB time is correct RDS time is still one hour behind and caused me to be late recently. I normally use FM for Radio 1 (89.40 MHz) , Newstalk (107.00) and Limerick 95fm, I would use DAB if Newstalk and local radio were there.

RDS time on Newstalk in the Limerick area has always been many hours behind since they launched, not sure if they use RTÉNL.

If there are any RTÉNL engineers reading can you please fix.

Any updates on this. Does TodayFM broadcast RDS time also... I can't imagine any locals do.... ?

It's the same every year, and they never learn. Usually a few weeks later, the penny drops, or someone complains to them, but they seem incapable of putting any processes in place to do it automatically. Not only that, but once they do set it, it then drifts slowly away from the real time and can be several minutes off by the time it's time to change the clocks again. Have they never heard of NTP?

Mt. Leinster always used to be fairly accurate. Are the sites fed separately? There was a time when some main sites would display different station names or use capitals when others used small letters.

Radio stations shouldnt be broadcasting Clock time/data unless they have the wherewithall to synchronise it with MSF/GBR/GPS (Same goes for TV stations broadcasting inaccurate teletext/EPG clock data). COMREG and the BCI should be coming down heavyily on any stations which do.

And RDS encoder equipment should have these functions disabled by default.

Usually its only National PSB's (RTE, BBC etc) who knowingly broadcast CT data anyway

Radio 1 (89.4 Woodcock Hill) still 1 hour behind, Mullaghanish time and date correct.

Today FM (101.2 Woodcock Hill) also carries time and date also 1 Hour behind, no time or date from Mullaghanish 101.8

C103 was the only local I could find that carried time and date but 1 hour behind.
