Experience and Travel

    Hey All,

I've been working as a Fund Accountant for 20 months.. Calculating NAVs for Fund of Funds and Hedge Funds and everything that goes with it.
I started the job 2 months after I graduated from Commerce in Galway. I've have zero interest in accountancy in the long term so I've stayed away from exams.. But if I could do the job elsewhere in the world, it would be perfect.

If I were to travel to Canada/Oz after getting two years experience, would my degree(2.1) and experience count for much? I want to either travel to a country like that and work with my experience or head to S.E Asia and teach English.

    Any thoughts appreciated. Thanks.

Having a qualification would generally be better than not having a qualification whether it is in TEFL or ACCA or whatever.

I know they have commerce degrees in Canada and New Zealand, not sure about elsewhere. I know a few fund accountants who are in Luxembourg now.

Yea my brother is Australia as a chartered engineer and he said it was a big help having it over just a degree. Guess the best thing I could do is email of my Cv and ask if it's enough.. Don't want them ringing my workplace though so i'd hav to change the reference.
