This may seem like a weird question but....what do you think its like to get stabbed?? Is it a burning sensation...blunt pain....no pain, just shock..

After hearing all the stories on the news its made me think that it must be an awful thing altogether, horrible feeling!

    Any input anyone??

Ever sliced into your finger with a knife? I'd imagine it's like that times a million and a bit.

I heard someone say once that it was like a really cold feeling running through them, probably cos all the blood started rushing out of their body.

Its like a 4 inch deep paper cut.

But made with a knife. Not Paper.

And in your body. Not your finger.

Ok I will play - I have been stabbed with a butchers boning knife to the stomach.

It's a very very weird feeling. Your body / skin is pushed in to the point of unbearable pressure before a strange feeling of release which is your skin splitting over the knife. After that you are aware of a strange feeling of something being inside you that shouldn't be - which is only a brief feeling as the knife withdraws. After that the shock sets in. You pretty much feel incredulous - you don't believe it has happened but when you lift your shirt and see the blood you realise your brain is not playing tricks on you. Then you slump to the floor and wait to be brought to hospital - strangely enough being lucid enough to hope you don't die before you get there.

As a comic aside I know have what looks like 2 belly buttons. :)

At first there is no pain at all, your body goes into shock right away. It may take until you see blood to realize that you have been stabbed. Soon a dull throbbing begins at the wound site, this grows in intensity until the pain begins to overtake your senses and panic begins to set in. Then the pain becomes almost unbearable and some people may loose consciousness, now a different level of shock begins to overtake you and you begin to tremble and shake until a state of panic is reached and you react according to your fight or flight instincts. Not at all pleasant, your friend needs a different kind of doctor if she pursues this course of action. The pain of a slash is felt almost immediately because the skin is more sensitive than your internal organs, a puncture is what I am talking about, have experienced both, don't want to again. Tell her to get a piercing and magnify the pain 1000 times.

Probably like this. Shock would kick in. If it was a sudden unprovoked attack, you'd probably feel the impact more than the blade and in a provoked attack the blood would be up, adrenaline etc. I have two rellies that got shot. WW2 and such. Apparently it didnt hurt as such. Like being kicked by a mule followed by a burning sensation, but no pain as such. That came later.

Rejoice in the awareness of feeling stupid, for that’s how you end up learning new things. If you’re not aware you’re stupid, you probably are.

I know of an old friend of mine who got stabbed seven-nine times all around his upper body, he was coming out of the cinema with his girlfriend, he told me that while he was fighting these numerous guys he had no idea he had been stabbed until he lifted up his top and the blood was squirting out of him, they ran to to the Cinema and they wouldnt open the doors to them, so much for Love eh? :(

but eventually they got an ambulance, he was very lucky thank God, and he is ok and alive and happy as larry.

Strange you should mention that. Had a dream about two weeks ago where I was shot. Can't remember the exact scenario but was very vivid at the time and I can distinctly remember the shock and pain ... even though it was a dream :o

Don't know if I've ever dreamt of being stabbed. I can't usually remembr my dreams. Anyone else ever dreamt of being shot or stabbed? Strange thing to be dreaming about I know. Probably due to watch TV before bed. :)

Getting shot would be the same, go ask a friend to shoot you with a reasonably high powered air rifle and then imagine the bleeding part and you have it :D
