When did premiership footballer become synonymous with drink driving?

    Just one among many.....

Swanny should be banned from driving for atleast 10 years but no doubt he will get away with just a slap on the wrist

Drunk drivers disgust me.....END OF STORY

    That is 1 example.
And a really awful attempt to illustrate your point.
He never even played in the premiership.

Why didn't you lamp Swanny in with Farmers sons?
    Or Hollywood actors.
    Or Farmers.
    Or TD's
    NBA basketball players.
    Barristers.
    Gardai
    Plumbers
    Apprentice carpenters.
    Mortgage advisors.

Thank goodness for that....you'd wonder what else he would have been upto if he did play in the premiership considering what magnificent role models these premiership footballers have been recently:(

....but I take your point....lumping 'gentleman' Swann in with the premiership footballers was doing the footballers a great disservice....atleast he had a valid excuse about his cat for drinking and driving:(.....pathetic!

Booth just so youre aware, most PL clubs have a first team squad of 25 players, and quite a few more when you take reserves into account. So even just taking first team squads into consideration, thats 500 players. Maybe 10 of them will make a dickhead of themselves. Thats 2% of all PL footballers. Hardly fair to tar them all with the same brush, is it?

My point is that your initial point that your effective declaration that premiership players are drink drivers was bloody silly.

You could have expressed your dissatisfaction about Swanns drink driving by say comparing him to TEST CRICKETERS like Andre Nel or Daryl Tuffey.

The arresting officer. PC Steven Denniss, told the court that he stopped Swann shortly after 3:00am because he was driving a high-performance car in an area hit by a spate of burglaries.

Denniss said Swann then admitted that he "shouldn't have probably been driving". Swann had 83 milligrammes of alcohol per 100 millilitres of blood. The legal limit for drivers in Britain is 80mg.

Just barely over the limit and he wasn't stopped for wobbling all over the road or speeding. Seems unlikely that he could have killed someone as you suggested earlier in this thread.

Folks, this thread is bordering on off-topic - please keep the discussion about the cricket side of things, the moral side can be discussed in the relevant forum.

    Thanks

But does it not make you stop and wonder how many times he's done it before and got away without getting caught!!

....but as the mod says lets stick to cricketing side of things.....Swanny may be a drink driver but he sure is one hell of an off spinner;)
