Online dating/second date question

A little background: I’ve been chatting to a girl that I met on an online dating site. We chatted for a week or so via email and MSN before I asked her out, and she accepted. We had a good date, I think, and even after I had put her into a taxi, there was a bit of banter via text messages, possibly suggesting further meetings. From my own perspective, there’s certainly lots of potential there for another date at least. This was just over a week ago.

Last week, we were still in contact and on Wednesday I asked if she wanted to do something on Thursday night, but she said that she had already made plans. She didn’t suggest an alternative date, but I know that she’s away over the Easter weekend.

The problem I have is that I’m finding this situation hard to read. On one hand, the contact between us has been good – she’s been asking questions, keeping the conversations going etc. On the other hand, she didn’t suggest a more suitable time for another date.

I've only recently dipped my toe into online dating and I’m afraid that online dating etiquette is really beyond me. Am I reading too much into her lack of suggestions? Is it worth asking one last time for a second date or is she trying to tell me she’s not interested? I don't have the fear of asking anyone out... I just don't want to appear to be a crazy stalker who's missing obvious signals! :)

Should I ask my date out again? 3 votes

I see no reason why you shouldnt go for it OP :) she seems keen on you, girls do not continue texting when they are not interested.
Give her a text and ask her if she would choose a night to meet up and arrange from there :) Remember you are only after meeting so treat it like a normal meeting and dont rush her or yourself.
And you are past the online part as you have met and texts.

She agreed to the date, you're hardly a stalker for asking her out again.

What do you have to lose?

    Sorry about poll.

I was leaning toward asking again one last time. I just want a definitive answer really. I guess I'll leave it until she comes home and then fire her a quick text asking for another date and put her in a position to give a definitive answer.

Id definitely ask her one last time. As lilies above said girls dont continue to text if theyre not interested end of. As you said wait till shes back after Easter and casually ask again. If she doesnt say yes or has plans and doesnt suggest another suitable time then id forget about it.
