    Touched on this a while a go and wonder if it will ever become reality. When a signal feed is sent out over the airwaves could it not be accompanied by a unique serial number that would correspond with say a sky tv listing which would then start and stop the recording as need.
    While it is a very rare acurance I managed to miss the second part of the F1 on BBC1 due to it being aired on BBC2 as easter mass was being shown on one. I presume if there was a unique serial number attached the sky box or similar would just follow the stream?.

    I missed it also, at least they repeated it later.

    Of course if we had checked the listings we would have known it was going to happen and just recorded it on bbc2.
