Is anyone else on here doing that thing where you spend a week in Dingle with a host family? I signed up for it but I don't know anyone else going.

    Never heard of it

speaking, with a chip on my shoulder, about not being able to speak Irish...

Is this something where if you don't have the Gaeltacht address you can still live there for x days and enjoy some cash reward?

Just had to be a registered student of UCC, you go to the Irish dept and do an interview saying why you want to go.

i'm not going this year but i was there back in 1st and 2nd year...you just stay with a family in the corca dhuibhne, usually 4-5 in each hse...get the whole bean an tí experience...really enjoyed it...there were a few who weren't studying irish but they all got on grand with everyone else...mainly it's first and second year irish students that attend...shame that more students don't know about it cos it's dead cheap and super craic!
