Im always looking for opportunities to improve the CV. Has anyone got any suggestions for courses which are run during the summer that would help to improve it? I realise there are lots of courses for primary teachers but there seems to be very little for secondary. I have contact the local teachers centre but to no avail.

You probably have it anyways, but if you dont, First Aid is a good one to have. They are fairly simple and not too time consuming (at least the one I went on wasnt anyways) and they look fairly decent to principals considering you are resposible for your kids etc etc.

You were probably looking for more subject or pedagogical/praxis relate one but its an idea anyways.

Hi. Dont know if you have found anything yet, but Im just looking around too for something to do over the summer. I saw something on the noticeboard in work about a place that does online summer courses. I think its called icepe or something. Have you heard of it? :)

If you don't have Irish as a subject you should really consider the teastas i dTeagasc na Gaeilge.

Sorry not sure if this is for secondary or for primary too? I'm looking into primary teaching as a postgrad and I'd love to be able to add to my CV in terms of courses etc. Special ed. would be interesting too. I'm just not sure if there is anything available for non-qualified people like me who are really interested in teaching? Anything I've found so far seems to be CPD for qualified teachers. BTW at one stage I was thinking of doing secondary teaching, just finished a business studies degree but I'm thinking I wouldn't be brave enough!!
