    Hi Folks,

I was thinking about trading me car in for a Freelander in Jap Cars on the old Airport road.

I just wanted some advice as i don't know much about them.

How much are they to tax?

    Are they reliable?

What are they like on Petrol it's a 1.8?

Any help would be great thank you.

    Pete

My brother had one also a 1.8 petrol. It was very light on juice because it was always broke down it never went right from day one. So my advice would be to stay well clear of them especially the 1.8 petrol engined ones.

A Freelander from that garage would make for an epic thread though.

As has been said, not a reliable car.

Overall the Land Rover is not a reliable car .. it's design philosophy is for self repair, ergo it seems to beak a lot more in the normal road usage.

The Range Rover is loved by many, precisely because it is 'easy' to repair and keep going in rough environments, but the Freelander is a very, very soft roader with none of it's badge's pedigree.

The Freelander is dirt to be honest.
