Then why not get a VCI-100 and soundcard? That'd be about €450, and there's more community support for the VCI-100. (Especially the SE).

IMO Traktor > Serato. If it was me I'd get the VCI 100 and use it with Traktor, cheaper and better IMO.

well i might change my mind let me make a poll about which product has better features in traktor3

The VCI 100 is much better for use with traktor, and the 300 doesn't have as many pots for the effects and what not!

I'd go for Traktor Pro though, not Traktor 3, don't see why you'd get an outdated version. The VCI-100 SE is the only all-in-one controller I'd change to, I love the fader fx stuff etc.

I have a VCI 100 and use it with Traktor Pro, and its well capable. It can do alot when you get a good mapping, and the kit is very sturdy and durable. The only problem is theres no Built in SC but my laptop has one so I use it with that. I got my VCI 100 for under €200 and love it. Ive used Itch on a friends Numark and just didnt like it as much as Traktor, just didnt find it as intuitive and easy to use.

But how can you cue with a single output laptop soundcard?

My laptop soundcard has double output. I use one for the line out to the speakers, and one for headphones. its a pretty good soundcard when used with asio.

If you can stretch to the VCI-300 with the additional effects remote, I'd give that a bash. You won;t go far wrong with the VCI-100 thought, but make sure to get the VCI-100SE from www.djtechtools.com

    Why?
Apart from colour, there's no difference in the hardware of any of the VCI-100s (barring the more expensive arcade button ones). The firmware can be updated easily to make any VCI 100 effectively an "SE".

No difference in the hardware. It's the mapping and the overlay, its way better than the standard. DJTT has a fairly large following behind it and the maps get updated often

Agree totally. But I wouldn't be paying DJTT prices for the controller. The overlays can be bought seperately for ~$30 iirc and I can do the firmware for a bottle of wine ;)
Big credit is due to DJTT for all the VCI support but $550 plus shipping, plus a good chance of being caught for VAT and duty is a spicy meatball! That's with a one year warranty. Standard VCI can be had from Thomann for €390 delivered with a three year warranty.

Not trying to be needlessly argumentative here Zascar. Just arming the OP with the info as I see it.

Ah yeah fair enough. When I got mine they kindly marked down the listed price but i still have to pay €50 duty, came in at just under 500 lids all in. I just did not want to bother messing with all the firmware crap

welll , i will wait with this , as long as i cant use traktor properly , i wont buy anythig, yeah i have seen djtechtools,, very talented guy that Ean. I give a little more time to understand this whole music mixing production life ,then i buy smthing cool. This Alen XD seems to be kinda professional too - but the handling isnt that great on it ,and the price its a bit too high too ,so i wait , im sure there are much better midi controllers coming out soon. I will update the poll with the alan and heath dx :)

Look into the Kontrol X1. Honestly. You won't be disappointed.
