dodgy eyesight & contact lenses?!

I'm thinking of finally taking the plunge and go for daily disposable contact lenses for when I'm working in the lab etc. Going for an eyetest this week with a test for the lenses too. My eyesight is pretty bad.. not too sure the prescription tho! My questions are: is there a 'limit' to how bad your eyes are to be suitable for contacts? and also if I go to ss, do they have to order your contacts or would they have them in stock?

    any advice appreciated :)

If you are just straight forward short sighted and -9 or better they are usually in stock.
