Anyone know of anywhere cheap to stay in Val d'Isere? A friend is going from April 11 to 16, and wants to spend her money on skiing and eating, not sleeping. She's happy to stay in hostels or anywhere like that.

    Anyone got any suggestions?

I cant say I know of any in Val d'Isere but I do over the other side of the Espace Killy ski area in Tignes. It also right at the end of the Tignes ski area in a village called Le Breveirers. Its called Chalet Charadon and could be dscribed as a chalet/hostel- its got a basement bar underneath so can get lively but prehaps not now as its end of season.

Thanks, but she had a child which is going into creche, so I think she has to be in Val.

Okay, thanks for that. The one thing she has going for her is the time of year. We're hoping that by now, demand will have slowed down and she'll find somewhere that won't break the bank.

eileen really you'll have no problem getting a cheaper place at this time of
year, to make life easy should pick a place convenient to the creche

here's a central place for you & reasonably priced

jardins de la balme (used to be operated by maeva) **disclosure i haven't stayed here under the new management company ""belambra"" i have stayed whilst the building was operated by maeva, it was basic but clean and would be comfortable for 3 people, otherwise a bit of a squeeze**

you'd be talking about 400ish for the week, but you could bargain with them
    or check the special offers
