can someone please tell me if i can pick up the irish DTT service with my bush idlcd42tv25HD,there is a ci (common interface slot on the side).do i need a cam?.would a dragon cam do the trick?,as it emulates all various crypts.

They are not encrypted.
They are just mpeg 4 as opposed to the uk mpeg2 standard so you need an mpeg4 tv or stb for them or a cam.

i taught i could use the ci slot in my tv to put the special cam needed to view the mpeg2 dtt test.

or is it only a ci slot in my tv to do with the uk freeview channels,where if you wanted the pay channels you had to insert a cam and correct viewing card from the company.so the ci slot is only for use in the uk with freeview etc?.

The Irish DTT Channels are mpeg4 and not mpeg2. There is a cam that may or may not work with your tv to allow you to view the mpeg4 channels.

hi and thank you for the link,i just done a scan on my tv and i can pick up all the DTT channels and radio stations,only thing is i can hear them all but cannot see them.the cam might indeed do the trick.
