Hi, someone has attempted to steal my car twice in the last few months, I was wondering if anyone could recomend where I could get a parking post supplied, installed and how much it's likely to cost.

I'm based on the Northside of Dublin.

    Thanks in advance.

Most places that do steel fencing and roller shutters etc will do them. Around €100-120 for good ones.

I was over in Liffey Valley today and they told me they don't stock them.

I'd prefer to get the ones that you can take in and out of the ground as it's a tight squeeze to get the 2 cars in the driveway and the fold down one wouldn't be practical.

I was hoping someone had got these installed and could recommend a company to contact. I'll definitely follow up on the other post on tuesday.

If anyone else has any recomendations or help it would be really appreciated.

Just a thought, rather than buying one from Halfords/Local UK megashop would you not try and get one fabricated? I weld a little myself and one of these things would be easy knock together. Get a quote from your local metal fabricator I wouldnt think it would cost more than what Halfords are charging and tbh they look a little flimsy to me.

Found a locksmith that could put in a parking post and decided to get the house locks done at the same time.

I'll post an update as soon as the works done.

Far superior to a single post, not sure about shipping costs etc though. Link

Managed to get a parking post supplied and installed aswell as my front and backdoor barrels upgraded to mul-t-locks (key matched) and a night latch for €500 ..... I rang 5 places and this was the cheapest by far.

Atleast I'll sleep abit easier now. :D

However, leave all of your keys visible downstairs.
The last thing you want is someone standing beside you during the night with a hammer or a kettle of boiling water demanding the keys!
A car can be replaced, you and your family presumably cannot!

Too common to risk it! There are plenty of coked out psychos out there!
