first love - advice needed ladies please

hi all.reconnected with my first love a year ago after 15+ years.daily texts,calls etc,mostly instigated by him.i have told him i have have feelings for him.he says he does'nt know what he wants,we still have a lot to talk about and he does'nt want to be hurt or hurt anyone again.he admits he has backed out of meeting up because we might end up spending the night together and that makes him nervous.he also seems to think i wo'nt like him when we do meet.we enjoy talking to each other,have loads in common and are very comfortable,but what to do??am i wasting my time by investing emotionally in this man or will it progress in your opinion?i know no one can predict the future but would love opinions on this one.thanks.

we need background info to give advice... why you guys broke up etc how long you were together...

I'm assuming he's in his early thirties at least? If so, saying he doesn't know what he wants is a cop out-either he wants to go out with you or he doesn't. It's not up to you to help him figure out what he wants either, that would only wreck your head. There're plenty of other men out there, go and meet them

broke up because i was young and did'nt know what i wanted from life.we had been friends for about 2 years and a couple for about a year.he was very hurt.
