just letting people know that these and other classic games are available on the american ps3 store.. all you have to do is register a new account and set your country of residence to the united states. they have alot more choice on there compared to our store

Its WAY better than the EU store. Was going through it a few days ago. RE 1,2,3 and my beloved Spyro trilogy were all there.

    "Hello"

    "Hello"

    "Follow me"

    "Okay!"

Just buy a pre-paid card from eBay. You'll get the code emailed to you and will be good to go. A $50 card will set you back about $56 but will actually save you money because the games in the US store are that much cheaper. Plus there's the likes of Suikoden, Wild Arms 1 & 2, Castlevania SOTN and dozens more on there.

What type of CC do you use?

I have Visa and it works, I think others have problems with Mastercard.

Do this(I know it works for Visa): http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showpost.php?p=60968885&postcount=4

The japanese store has an even better selection especially when it comes to shoot'em ups. Don't miss out on Gunners Heaven, Einhander, G-Darius, R-type Delta, Raystorm and Silent Bomber.

Nice tip off lads! Used to do a similar thing with the xbox store but never even thought of doing it on the psn. Can't believe they have all the old RE games up too. Only real decent originals over here are FF7/8.

The worst thing about the PAL store is that all the games have black borders and run a lot slower. I never buy any games off the PAL store because of this. FFVII and FFVIII are particularly badly effected by this. If you are thinking of buying these games get them off the US store because they are horrendous from the PAL store.

Well the problem there is that it's a PS2 game. Also I woldn't get it because the PS2 game looks much worse than the Gamecube version.

Lol just realized that, had a look on wiki's list of PSN games, only ps1 games and f*** all in europe, all in US, that sucks!

Just got my ps3 last week so i'm only learning fella.

Is there any word that they will upload any ps2 games in the future at all? or are they too big to put up or need new coding on ps3?

Played RE4 on both GC and PS2, loved them both but liked the ps2 version more for some reason, prob cause of the controller.

Just set up a US account and gotta say that the US Store is a hell of a lot better than what we have here. The search categories for one are way easier and seeing all the classic PSone games like Oddworld, Resident Evil's, Tomb Raiders and Syphon Filters just bring back so many memories. Definately gonna consider purchasing some of these.

Check the side by side comparisons on youtube. The PS2 version is missing a load of lighting, atmospheric effects and general eye candy. I also found the GC controller to be way better for the game.

Presumeably if you set up a US profile, download a PS1 game from the US store, the game will still appear what ever profile you normally play on.

    Yes?

    Yes.

This worked a treat. Nice one.

I'd heard the US store was better but didn't realise by how much.

What the hell is that about?

Supposedly it's licensing issues but i'm sure the real reason is that SCEE are total incompetents.

Soulreaver is up there too, man that game has aged badly. Even on the PSP it's rubbish.

Legacy of Kain (the preceding game) is up there as well , and its still pretty decent (It's pretty much Zelda with vampires, at least play wise). Also Castlevania :SOTN is up there and is definitely worth a punt

ok since i am new to the ps3 i have a stupid question or two.
I set up a eu account on the psn and now that signs in automatically when on my ps3.
How do i set up an american account now? What home address do i put in to set one up? Do i need a new email address or can i use the same one as i used for my eu account?

So sorry guys, i'm sure these questions have been asked and answered a miilion times on here.

    Cheers though!

    Use a different email.
For the address I just used an American one from the nearest game manual I could get my hands on. Or go to a US company website and use their address in the site's contact details.

I got it two days ago. It was my first PS1 download. :D

I read a couple of complaints from people here regarding the poor quality of the games from the European PSN store. I have to say I have no issues with Abe's Odyssey yet. :D

Well see those big black dirty borders on the top and bottom of the screen? On the US game store those aren't there. Also the games play faster and smoother from the US store, they are better playing games. If you haven't experienced the US version you might not notice the speed difference, ignorance is bliss and all but if you did play them one after the other you wouldn't go back.
