That's an old article from 2007 that was discussed here if I recall. I'll run a search.

I wouldn't worry too much about indymedia in general, they're a bit on the crusty side.

    <edit> here's the thread.

Oh, right. I still wouldn't worry too much about it.

The author is a well known hunt sab and animal "activist" with a fairly hefty chip on her shoulder. Hysteria is a ploy to evoke a response.

It's funny to the point where I realise what an ass the author made of herself.

She has an opinion. She is wrong. It is corrected, the opinion does not change. Cue hysterical arguements about childrens eyes being blasted out of their heads bu 6mm plastic bullets and making spurious claims about the treatment of racehorses.

We've seen it before, we'll see it again. Which is why I am thankful for the IAA who have to respond to such hysteria and why a calm and rational voice speaks louder than a hysterical tool.

i can see where people can get the wrong end of the stick though. we do use imitation weapons. before i knew about airsoft i was walking down the street when a young kid jumped out of an alley and pointed a model mp5 at me. i sH@T a brick. then realized what it was. if that was an old man or woman well you get the point. in america the aegs have to have a red or blue tip to denote a toy and some have to be all a bright color or clear plastic. it was a bit stupid to have kids selling them but the general public will always over react. i call it Joe Duffy syndrome. :D:D:D

That was three years ago? Wow, crazy.

I remember that idiocy alright, it was like arguing with children. As a result of that thread we had some psychopaths trolling over here for a while.

Anyway, there's really no point giving that article any more attention than it deserves. It's old old news. So I'm going to lock this thread.
