went for a spin at 6.30 this morning cycled out to malahide ,portmarnock, howth, back home, beautifull morning for it.
as i was leaving malahide on the coast road to portmarnock, a guy on a road bike shot past me shouting lets go, lets go,lets go,lets go.
apart from frightening the crap out of me:D he made me feel like i was standing still, and i wasnt, i was going 32 kph at the time.
does any one else feel it nessesary to shout at slower people??

also waiting to tee off in roganstown golf club today when 2 roaadies went by shouting fore at the top off their voice, not the first time i have heard this , it seems to be the thing to do if your cycling past.
(first tee is very close to the road) whats up with that???

i have to up the training intensity from now on , wont let any body pass me like that again without giving chase:D

What on earth were they doing on the golf course on a road bike? They'd have been far better off on MTBs.

Did the guy that passed you when you were doing 32kph go way past you or was it just a sprint of pace from him to pass you as high speed (which is what it sounds like)?

Portmarnock - he should have shouted 'fore' - 'fore'

he turned off the road about 500 yards away, but he was still going like the clappers, i dont think any body could keep up that speed for any serious lenght of time, he was probably collapsed around the corner:D

Yea, he was defo just sprinting. He probably saw you from ages back took an easy pace and the blasted you when he knew he could cut off shortly after wards.

/confession time/ I've done that too now and again! but never with the shouty bit/confession time over/

Well was he shouting at your or himself trying to push harder?

Plenty of times when time trialing of starting shouting at myself (not loud) to push myself on when I'm nearing the end and starting to suffer. If you were doing 32km and he blasted past you then he may well have been doing that.
