    Hi,

I am looking for a legal secretary/paralegal course through distance learning. I have enquired with Griffith College in Dublin but there course only starts in January of every year. I have also come across the pitman training course and found it very expensive so i don't think i could afford it. I was looking online today and found this course http://www.icieducation.ie/paralegal/ and was wondering if anyone has heard of the International Career Institute? And if the course is any good. I want a course that Legal Firms will recognise and acknowledge as an accredited course. Thanks for any help

    Hi there

I am also looking into a career as a Legal Secretary and Pitman is expensive but it seems to be the best and its convenient. However through the 'grape vine' ive been told that Fás offer a discount through Pitman. I am currently trying to get information and so far its proving difficult. It worth Looking into and maybe you will get some infomation...........

    You can also check:
    http://www.ilex-tutorial.ac.uk/
based in the uk, think it is linked to city and guilds. and resonably priced when I checked it about a year ago. Think it is ultimately similar to the course in Griffith college.

I know FAS run a Legal Secretarial course . The course is run over 33 weeks and leads to a FETAC Level 5 Award; and one suspects unlike the other courses, if you meet the qualifying criteria, you would be paid whilst attending same rather than paying to do the course.

I also know that the Bray Institute of Further Education also runs a Legal Secretary Course.
