Trying to put music from my computer library on to my ipod shuffle. I can't because the music is in protected WMA format. Very annoying! Any clue on what I should do??

If you are doing it in itunes then the songs need to be added to your itunes library, when you add them it will tell you they need to be converted and will offer to do so. Accept this and it will convert them and you will then be able to add them to your ipod.

That's what I've been doing and when I click 'Convert' it says they can't be converted because they are protected WMA files and only unprotected files can be converted by iTunes.

Then the files have DRM protection on them and wont allow you to convert them to mp3 for your itunes library. If you bought the files online then they more than likely have the DRM protection on them. You would need to remove this before being able to add them to your ipod.

Open up wmp and click on tools - options - rip music.
If the copy protect music option is ticked then that's the problem, change the format to mp3 and re rip your music.

Or, just rip it into iTunes.

Ok, what version of WMP are you using? Go through each of the menu options until you find either "Options" or "Advanced Options" or something like that.

Then look for "Rip Options" and then a tick box that says "Copy protect files" or something to that effect.

Or, as others have said, use iTunes to rip the CD.

Press the Alt button on the keyboard and a menu will appear in the top right corner of wmp.
