You'd probably want a pair of boots rather than shoes, to give you good ankle support. I have a pair of Meindl Tampa GTX and i love them, really great boots. The footwear department in Great Outdoors is very good, i'd recommend looking there. You will definitely need to wear them as much as you can before you go, just to get used to them!
