equivalent to the 52V5500 but with satelite tuner [and Dvb-t, cable, analog] for 999 at peats: link

Bought it and it's big... sd quality is decent which is allready a feat in itself but hd is perfect on my ps3.

you can read through the network [DLNA] videos on a pc easilly with TVersity or "Java PS3 Media Server" which doesn't need a ps3 btw

if searching fore reviews, try KDL-52v5800

Decent price but not too many would be prepared to go for a set as huge as that without any 100Hz feature on board!! Still though, Irish DTT tuner AND a Freesat tuner makes it good for the best in Free television. should be decent for gaming too!

According to this it doesn't have a MPEG-4 tuner, only a MPEG-2 tuner so not Irish DTT future friendly. The specs of the KDL-52V5810 and 52v5800 aren't the same it would seem.

"Digital Terrestrial Tuner (MPEG-2) - YES"

It definitely, all of the upper spec Sony 2009 models have it and they are boardsie confirmations in the terrestrial forum that the Sony Freesat tvs do indeed pick up our DTT, they dont mention the MPEG4 bit in the UK because its of zero use to them over there

    Cool

Got a link to the reports from boardsies for this specific model of Sony?
I don't see any mention of this or any 52v58* TVs in the Terrestrial TV section of boards. I wouldn't wanna fork out the €1k only to find it doesn't have a DVB-T MPEG-4 tuner :)

Have a look through this thread if you want to convince yourself

Basically, all V, W and Z model lines have had had the mpeg4 tuner for a while now,

Plenty of posts like this, put simply, that tv definitely has a mpeg4 tuner!

Yes, I can confirm that Zonda is right. THe V-series definitely does have MPEG4 DTT tuner.

Actually, I think the DTT and Digital sat tuners both share the same MPEG4 chipset. As Freesat needs MPEG4 for HD, then the DTT gets MPEG4 by default.
