    Hi all,

We are currently renovating a cira 150 old stone house.

The builder wants to use k-rend for the external render but I dont think it will work as well for the building as a lime based finish.

Am I right in saying that for stone house to breath there needs to be lime finish on the building.
I dont think k-rend will look nice on the building either. I would rather a rough finish to the house to suit the house period.

    Any thoughts?

    I'd insist on lime render

I will get talking to the builder this evening and ask him again.

The k-rend while easy to put on - I think it's an easy and quick way for the builder and wont work for us in the long run
