This has been a problem for a while .. but i have just ignored the kids moaning untill now.
Has any one got this problem? i know there is issues with c4/e4 etc but i have a lot of channels saying there is a no sat signal being received unplug the sky + box from the wall for 1 min.... tried this and its still the same.
here is a short list of some channels:
    All the channel 4 s
    Music channels
    The box
    The vault
    Kiss
    Flava
    Dance nation
    Bliss
    And some kids channels like
    Pop
    Tiny Pop

They all worked up untill around December /january . its not a subscribion issue as nothing changed plan or details etc.

Some channels display the message about plug it out etc,
Some others are just blank Blue Screen / or broken picture.

Any help would be great, i havent called sky yet as they melt my head!!

I notice my Sky is breaking up a lot recently - pixelating badly when raining.
Is this due to weather conditions, or a poor signal.?

Id say your dish has moved slightly, Theses channels are on a weaker transponder. It probably needs slight realignment.

I know this is gonna sound like a stupid question, but how exactly does it interfere with the sat signal?

it interferes with the signal within the cable.
I have the same problem myself and was amazed how unplugging the phone caused an intant improvement
