Hi guys can anyone help me - im wondering on bank holiday Monday would the trains be running on a Sunday or Monday schedule. Ive checked their website and it looks like an ordinary Monday service but i thought it should be Sunday? Wouldn't be surprised if they forgot to update their bank hols!!

Maybe you've seen this already but just in case, it has Monday's timetable

As usual boards comes to the rescue thanks for that i couldn't find it anywhere! One thing you might know under Mondays schedule it says no commuter service to/from thurles. What does that mean - i want to get on in Thurles and it looks like there are trains stopping there?

    Cheers

I think by commuter services they mean services that start/finish in Thurles as opposed to the long distance (Dublin-Cork) ones that call there on the way. Looking at the timetable there appear to still be Dublin-Cork services calling at Thurles this Monday; there just wouldn't be the same amount of services overall as there would be on a weekday.

It's on the front page of www.Irishrail.ie in the section called travel alerts and news of all places ;)

He probably got distracted by the fecking Google ads. Maybe IE should sell advertising at the edges of their timetable posters too. I know it helps recoup costs but the amount of clutter on the home page is desperate.

More like laziness if you ask me. Internet forums all over are full of simple questions from people like OP who can't be bothered to look for basic info at source or through Google but they have time to post up questions on here or other sites and wait for answers.

Maybe, but by common consent CIE/IE's website is recognised as a masterpiece in terms of being user unfriendly; at least it prepares you for the service that greets you should you decide to travel by train.

The ads can be a bit annoying alright although you'll get over it. I've seen worse sites than IÉ; theres a handy journey planner right in front on the homepage, so you don't have to go looking for it. The link to "more information" serves as a handy site map for the various pages on the site. Could be better of course, a fares calculator like what Rail users site has wouldn'tt go amiss.

Given that the information he sought was on the front page you can reckon he tried to look for it about as hard as you try not to be bitter about life in general:D

Friend I see that my attitude to life continues to interest you, but I assure you that if you examine my posts on other forums you will find I'm not bitter about life at all. That said, I have plenty to be bitter about but I operate under the philosophy of 'don't let the bastards grind you down'! :D
