its a 105hp. 6 cylinder non turbo. same engine as in 3080. bullet proof engine. them tractors still demand a high price. so i would be guessing at least 13k.

    hi

just when you mentioned the Mf 3080, are these the tractors that give serious trouble with the gearboxes...
i know they alot cheaper than the 399

some of them gave trouble if the owner dogged them. obviously the gearbox in the 399 in a totally different and imo the 3080 gearbox is a much nicer one. you cant relaly fault the 3080 except for the gearbox. its cab is far superior than the 399 and the draft system is second to none. overall a much nicer place to be.

The 32 speed gearboxes in the 3000 series are known for giving trouble, with the A/B range selection. Basically there is a large nut securing the A/B range gears , that nut has a tendency to loosen and fall off causing a lot of damage in the transmission. The 16 speed versions dont suffer from the same problem.

As said by other poster the 3080s are nice tractors to drive, cheap and have a great (and reliable) bosch electronic lift control system. However issues with the transmissions and transmission control electrics do tend to cast a shadow over their reliability.

weve had a 3085 from new in 95 9000hrs on her 16 speed gearbox no problem clutch replaced at 6000 hrs we replaced the joints on the gearlevers this year an we tidied her up cosmetically added lights etc really made a difference like a new tractor again much nicer to drive than the new case mxu135 the 3000 series got a bad name when new but alot of them were converted back from dynashift to just the 16 speed gearbox but they are much cheaper than the 300 but higher speced just watch for rust on the cab ;)

sorry for resurrecting old thread but how do you tell which gearbox is in the 3000 series. Trying to determine before I go and look at one.

do they alll have a shuttle and two gearsticks to the right?
