Hi Guys, I recently purchased a Silvercrest universal remote control Kh2157. It works perfectly with my philips tv and Targa dvd recorder. However when it comes to the digital satellite receiver it doesnt work too good.

My sat receiver is a Silvercrest dvb-sl65 ...... and considering it is the same make as the remote its kinda frustrating.

I have tried all the codes, including brand search, code search, and inputting the specific codes. I have also tried the learning function which only works very very poorly... eg. only one button in five will work... and even then it will only work one in twenty or thirty presses of the button. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

    Many thanks. Hodge

I have never found codes that work for the SL65 but the learn function should work.

Start again from scratch. Clear all codes from the memory.

Follow the learn function instructions closely. Place remotes on flat surface and not too far apart.

Make sure that the batteries in both remotes are is good shape before doing it.

In my experience that should give better results, but I find that it is still not as good as the original SL65 sat remote.

    Isn't Silvercrest a Lidl brand?

Hi guys, thanks for the replies. I have tried everything to be honest. New batteries, dark room, light room, etc etc.... not near other appliances etc. Still the learn function does not work for the sl65. Bought both items in Lidl, which is kinda a a pain since they are both the same brand. The learn function works with the other remote controls, just not with the silvercrest.

I just purchased a Silvercrest Remote & experienced the same difficulties. Silvercrest is manufactured by COMAG so all codes for Silvercrest can be found under that name. The remote will have come with codes or you can get them online. :)

If anyone has a spare SL65 remote they don't need now, I would appreciate it. Mine stopped working a while ago.

    Thanks

Lidl just had a universal remote in. They had loads in the shop I got them so they may still have them. It can be coded to work with your satellite.

But I think the case is, with these remotes, you usually have to use the Learn function on them. But because I don't have a working remote for my receiver, I can't.

My remote was not working either. This is why I bought the Silvercrest Universal remote. I was able to set it up to work & it now controls all of the functions that the original remote operated, i.e. menu, tuning, listings etc. I also got it to work on my TV & DVD also so now I have only one remote for all equipment! I think the remote was 9.99 at lidl & they said I could return it no problem if I couldn't get it to work. Worth a go..

    Try these.

In the event that the COMAG codes dont work try the Strong codes as the first SL65 from 2005 has the same hardware as the Strong 65x series.

Failing that try the Silvercrest master codes.

    Handy masterlist also below.

    COMAG 1237 1236 1233 1231 1165 0471

    STRONG 0562 0428 0602 0545 0454 0489 0405 0407

    SILVERCREST 0341 1093 1090 1091 1092
