    Hey

We are looking for some advice on accommodation for Vancouver and Anchorage and also on en route from Vancouver to Calargy.

We fly into Vancouver and need accommodation for 4 nights, What we're looking for is a bit of luxury and possibly hot tubs and a bit of TLC...

We'll be spending 2 nights in Anchorage and then followed by a week long drive through the Rockies from Vancouver to Calargy.

Has anyone any tips/advice that could help us out?

    Any feedback appreciated:)

If you are travelling this summer, just make some early decisions on travel or accomodation for Alaska as they have a short tourist season and the good value places gets chock-a-block.

In Anchorage 4th and 5th street is where the shopping district is located. All the chain hotels around that area are pretty much the same - just look for the best price. The sheraton and marriott are probably most popular.

You will probably need a car to get around. It's a pretty sprawling city.

There are lots of lodges outside the city on the Seward highway and all around. They can be a little hit and miss.

As a city Anchorage is not a pretty place.
If you want to see Alaska you need to get out of Anchorage and head North but if yo only have a few days you should go south to somewhere like Seward and do a Kenai Fjords trip and visit Exit Glacier. It's touristy but well worth it. Seward is about a 2.5 hour drive from Anchorage and the scenery on the trip is lovely.

If you are ataying in Anchorage Whittier is just down the Seward Highway

Anchorage is just like any other city
