i bought a pair of fulcrum racing 7's last week

they have a campagnolo freehub in them and make that bloody horrendous rachet sound when free wheeling

i wouldnt have bought them if id have known they made this noise, but so be it

just wondering, is it possible to change the hub for another one that doesnt make that horrible fishing reel sound?

ye you could but you MIGHT have to buy new spokes and getting a wheel built can be expensive. i tought myself how to build a wheel and am a fairly confident wheelbuilder but it takes alot of practice and building a rear wheel first id definetly not the way to start its not easy. so it might not be worth your while. hub 30 spokes 24+ labour 20-30 the spokes on the fulcrum aree laced 2:1 and thats hard to replicate so its not going to be as agood a wheel unless its laced right. spokes are going to be more expensive as if you wanth them black it could be around 2 euro each. so i would bother if i were you. hop this helps

    I think you've gone mad.

I've used Fulcrum 7s with a campag freehub. The freehub makes...a freehub noise.

If it bothers you that much just coast less!

that's what they said in the cycle superstore

i cannot fathom why they'd even make a hub with that noise, it baffles me, it really does
