When I read this, it just seemed to be unreal. Unfortunately, for us all, its not! :(
Let's try one more time to get our heads around those Nama numbers, bank bailout totals, and how much the State is pouring into our ailing banks and building societies
    Payments to Date
    State investment

€12,300,000,000 (investment in Anglo Irish to date)

€3,500,000,000 (investment in AIB to date; more may be needed)

€3,500,000,000 (investment in Bank of Ireland to date)

€100,000,000 (investment in Irish Nationwide to date)

€8,500,000,000 (Nama's purchase of first loans)

    Probable future costs
(up to) €10,000,000,000 (future Anglo costs)

    €2,600,000,000 (future Irish Nationwide costs)

    €875,000,000 (future EBS costs)

(up to) €41,500,000,000(further projected upfront Nama spend)
    Grand total
    (up to) €82,875,000,000

The crazy thing is that the additional 10 billion for Anglo may not be the end of it.

Dukes said as much this morning on The Very Last Word, saying he didn't know what it would cost.

And yet he's adamant that winding it down would "cost more" ???

He's lost all credibility........how can you state categorically that an alternative would cost more when you haven't a clue what the current plan would cost ?
