    Hi All,

Just looking to see if anyone has experienced something like this before. My PC is not able to reach the full potential of my line speed recently. I have a 20Mb connection with UPC and when a speed test is run on anything connected to the network (Playstation, Laptop, iPhone) bar my PC, they're getting down speeds of in and around 14200 kbps, up speeds of 1600 kbps and pinging anywhere from 45 to 70 ms. When I run a speed test on my PC down speed are limited to about 2000 kbps and up speeds about 500 kbps. It pings at a max of 22 but sometimes goes as low as 12 ms.

So coming to the conclusion that something is hogging my connection from my PC I do a full virus scan. Nothing is found. Then, I decide maybe there is a program running somewhere that is using up the bandwidth. So I run two speed tests at the same time, one from my PC and one from my phone. Phone gets full potential, PC is still limited to 2000 kbps. Next I decide to boot the PC into safe mode and run a speed test when just the basics are running. Again, same lack of speed. Last thing I can think of, I disable my wireless card and connect the pc directly via the network port. Still stuck at 2000 kbps....

Now I've run out of options... I think that this could be a hardware problem but I thought I'd start here to rule out a virus. So, has anyone ever heard of this happening before?

May have found the problem, or at least a way around it. I was messing around with the network properties and found that the Bandwidth Controller kernel component was checked. Unchecked now and thankfully I have my speed back again
