Emmigrting - childrens allowance

    Hi all,

I am married with a 3yr old child, and receive the regular children's allowance paid straight into the Mrs. account.

I am about to go working over sea's. For all intensive purposes, I will be "living" there (outside the EU) and will be working and paying tax in that country.

I will be travelling home a couple of times a year. My wife and child will be coming out and staying with me for a ocuple of months, coming home for a couple of months - and back & forth. I have a house here, and will keep the house, and will still be "registered" as living at that address .... all the blls etc., bank statements, and so on will come to my Irish address.

My question is, will I still be entitled to claim the childs allowance? We're all Irish, I've worked and paid my taxes etc. for the last god knows how long (5-6-7 years???) etc., and I am not being underhanded or avoiding tax or trying to be cute about anything........

    Many thanks.
