    Hi There,
Was in regional hospital in limerick a couple of days ago for an x-ray. In addition to this i had some mild dry skin on my face, i had tried over the counter creams to sort but they did not work. When i was finished with the doctor in the hospital, i asked him could he prescribe some medicated cream also, he had a look at the skin and asked me had i sun exposure to which i said None whatsoever. He prescribed me a cream called solareze. I have used for 2 days, it has burnt the crap out of my face. I googled the cream and Its used for Extreme conditions "Actinic keratosis (AK; also called solar keratosis) is a common precancerous skin condition that appears as a dry, scaly lesion caused by prolonged and repeated sun exposure. ".
Even when i went to collect the prescription the pharmasist was hesitant to give it to me. I went back to her today and she said the same, but the fact he had prescribed it then she had to give it to me.

BAsically the cream cost 50euro, my face is very sore, i had a touch of dry skin and not the above. Completely misdiagnosed!. Who can i complain to and how can i get my money back. I tried googling a contact in the regional but cannot find it.

    Thanks,

    Thanks,

i'm going to lock this as i see it heading down teh road of medical and/or legal advice.

best bet is to speak to your GP about a)what teh skin condition is, b) what treatment is needed , c) if any treatment is needed for the area you say is burned

re your money - i odnt see how you can ask for your money back - if someone needs a second course of antibiotics to clear an infection because teh first lot didnt work, they dont get teh cost of teh first lot back
