i am considering buying a Tag Heuer watch. i found this one on sale.

    http://www.tagheuer.com/the-collection/aquaracer/man/aquaracer-quartz-chronograph-grande-date/index.lbl?w=CAF101D.BA0821

its the one with the yellow dial and metal strap. it looks lovely in person and feels very nice on.

im just trying to justify buying it to my self. it is good value for a Tag, but i'm just wondering if its silly spending so much on a watch.

i could actually buy several nice watches for the price of it, but sill cant help my liking for a nice watch :D

an tag owners out there willing to fight its case? or not? :D

    thanks

Thanks for your reply bedlam, its much appreciated.

The watch is €696. thats 40% off the original price of €1160.
Its a discontinued model, i think.
For €700 I know I could get about 2 nice watches.

To be honest I hadn't even noticed about it being a quartz as apposed to being a mechanical movement.

i suppose on the positive side a quartz movement would cheaper to service and repair.....(i assume, being the watch novice that i am)
    haha

I bought two Tag Heuer Formula One Chrono watches three weeks ago for myself and my son I paid €1330 for both watches and I dont regret for one minute buying them I bought the steel band with black face for myself and rubber strap with orange face for son. I feel I got a very good deal for the two watches.

i was given the choice of any watch i wanted for my 21st a few years ago and was going to go for a tag

after a bit of shopping around i found a far far nicer limitied edition citizen for hal fthe price which i absolutely love and dont regret not going for the bigger brand name at all

sure its a tag and sure its reduced but basic tags are just that imo basic looking watches that have a name on them

for the same price i would say you will get a far nicer watch from a different brand that is the same quality and you will like just as much but will be more unique

    Hey 00dec,
I had an Aquaracer with the black dial (it was the chronotimer model) and it was a superb watch. Really well finished and was a perfect size on me. A lot of people bang on about quartz being 'cheap' but a lot of auto movements are very cheap to buy also, and anyway, mechanical isn't for everyone. Go with the one you like, and if you like the Tag then go for it.

    thanks for the replies everyone.

well ya.. it is a display model. its in the display case but shows absolutely no signs of wear. i have looked at it closely for any scratches on the bracelet and everywhere else.

aren't all the watches in a jewellery shop display models? they are not going to have too many of the same one presumably?
