What kinda laptop could you guys recommend for an art student like me? I'm hopefully starting a multimedia course in September, and I need a laptop. I have an OK desktop but I want a laptop for convenience!:o

I'm going on a budget (€1000, absolute max would be (€1,200) so if you could help me out, gravy. It's just that each laptop I see, I see another one better soon after. will be done on it.

I'll need it for mobility, I want to be carrying it around to college, etc so I don't want something with tiny battery life. I'd like something that doesn't feel too cheap either, if that's possible.

This is the course outline -

    Thanks guys! :)

    hi
From my point of view the best choice will be the DELL XPS, with 1gb dedicated - graphic card and min. 4gb of RAM. 17" screen.
I can recommend also ASUS. - laptops with 2 years warranty - find with good graphic card.
I use the DELL Precision for 3D mechanical modelling (CAD software - Inventor2009), but the Precision is so expensive.

    Very overpriced though :/

Our computers at the college are all windows based PCs. It doesn't make any difference either way but the price, in my opinion!

over priced, and other than final cut not a whole lot is exclusive to mac anymore, they've lost their edge in recent years
