    Hi,

    Thinking of getting this car:
    http://www.carzone.ie/search/Mazda/Mazda6/2.2D-Exe/201012197380318/advert?channel=CARS
    Mazda6 Exec SE 2009
    Price €23,500
    Engine 2.2 Diesel
    Mileage 24,928 M / 40,118 KM

Metallic paintwork, Driver airbag, Passenger airbag, Side airbags, Climate Control, Radio/CD, Alarm, Alarm remote controlled, Anti theft system, Immobiliser, Central locking, Cruise control, ABS, Multi function steering wheel, Outside temperature meter, Power assisted steering, Traction control, Alloy wheels, Full service history, Windows front + rear electric, Electric mirrors.

Just want to make sure the price is ok, because I'm not so knowledgeable about cars. Any opinions? Mileage is a bit higher than I'd like.

Also, I'll be trading in a early 2007 Seat Leon 1.6 Petrol, 102,000 km on the clock. They are offering €7500 for this. Looking at the prices for these, I think its as good as I could hope for a trade in, especially given the high mileage.
I know selling privately I would get more, but dont want the hassle of that.

    Thanks for you help

Sounds a little steep to me considering Stuarts on the greenhills road have a big banner advertising new Mazda 6 for € 21,995

I'd check who previously owned it, mileage has all the makings of an ex rental car or rep mobile.

That must be for the lower spec petrol version. The Diesel Exec SE retails at €29k new.

The sales guy said it was owned by Mazda Ireland for use by one of its staff. So basically it was a company car.

23500 is the list price on their website! Do not pay the list price!! Definitely haggle them down to 20k and then have your car as a trade in for 7.5k. Buyers market...if you dont feel comfortable arguing over a price get a friend who will

24k miles is not particularly high. I commute to work and its all motorway driving. At the moment i'm putting on 10,000 miles every 3 months. I would say despite the mileage that my car gets a very easy life.

Anyone who is scared by 24,500 miles on a car is a bit

Aside from that...isnt the recession fantastic if you have a secure job. That is some car for that money.

The sticker price is irrelevant when you have a part exchange, the important price here is the cost to trade up price. The only way to know if you are getting a good deal is to find a similar car in another garage and see what cost to trade up price they quote you.

May have been driven to death really in that case, I'd find another if I was you.
