    From ew.com:
What are you doing after the Lost finale on Sunday, May 23 — aside from experiencing the early stages of withdrawal? You’re watching Jimmy Kimmel Live: Aloha to Lost, a special edition of JKL devoted entirely to the show’s series finale. Highlights of the hour include an analysis of the two-hour conclusion, an appearance by executive producers Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse, and live interviews with several of the show’s cast members (to be announced at a later date).

I didn't realise they were moving the finale to Sunday. Hope this show will be available to watch too.

It's a US talk show, I doubt it. You'll probably have to acquire it elsewhere.

The finale is supposed to be airing everywhere "simultaneously" as well. So it seems Disney will be making it available to RTE/Sky to show at the same time (or more likely the following night) as the US. I can't see either of them taking up this offer and messing up their precious schedules though.

This would be a very good idea, as it would stop people watching it online. Sky/RTE would be silly not to do this.

Really? Is it worth us sending a few emails out to them I wonder?

I dunno, maybe they will air it on the Sunday/Monday. We still don't know how this "simultaneous" thing will work. But Damon repeated it recently, so it's obviously still going ahead.

Ugh. The idea of watching the show with ad breaks seems horrifying to me. If Sky/Rte showed it "live" then I would obviously watch it but if they show it the next night then I will just watch it as normal out of habit and to avoid ad breaks.

How many extra people do you think will tune into the final episode who have stopped watching it over the years? It should be huge. I have loads of friends along the way who 'dropped out' and I reckon they'll tune in to see the outcome? I think RTE/Sky would be well advised to get it out as soon as they can. I know I'll be watching it at the first available chance, how ever that may be!

    Good question, answer: A LOT!

Which raises another valid question. To what degree will they write/script/shoot the Finale in a fashion that it will work as a stand-alone piece?

I know it's inconceivable at this point that the Finale won't involve MIB/Jacob mythology but i wouldn't be overly surprised if efforts are made for it to make sense as a stand-alone episode for people who a) watched earlier seasons and dropped out (who have little or no idea about MIB/Jacob or b) never watched earlier seasons at all.

If they can execute that very well, it has the potential to introduce thousands, if not millions, of new viewers who will buy the boxsets and watch the show in its entirety. I wouldn't be surprised in the least if a lot, or all, the favourite characters from all 6 seasons make appearances in the Finale. Whether it's a happy/dark/bittersweet ending they will probably feel the need for it to be an 'in conclusion' type episode versus 'the end'. Far less like the last chapter of a book but re-emphasising the main points of what's already written and signing off with the payoff to get best marks.

Ugh I hope they don't do it for the sake of it. Quite frankly, **** those who stopped watching the show. It's their loss, we are the ones who stuck it and as such the pay-off for the story is for those who have followed it throughout.

I can't get the quote right now, but Damon said a while ago that they were making the finale for the diehard fans and that shippers, etc mightn't be happy with it.

Yeah I don't expect it to air over here but I don't know if stuff like JKL is ever available. I suppose given the topic, it probably will.

In terms of simulcast, Monday night would be the earliest they could show it. Regardless, I have no doubt that I will be watching ad free!

No, just the 2 hour finale. Unfortunately they aren't doing a 3 hour finale this season. Which is disappointing as it probably means a lot of things will get stuffed into the last two episodes.

I thought I heard Damon say they were doing a 3 hour one?

There was an interview in which they were misquoted as saying this. But Damon and Carlton only wrote 6x17/18, so that's the finale. The penultimate episode, 6x16, was written by others and has a different title.

It's not a big deal, but in previous season the penultimate episode tended to be a bridging episode, with Damon and Carlton saving the good stuff for themselves.

If it was shown simultaneously everywhere, wouldn't that mean it'd be on in the middle of the night at like 12/1am over here???

lol, yeah, which is why I put quotations around it. But that's what the writers have been saying. Obviously they mean relatively.
