VAT for a non-resident

Folks, my assessor is charging me VAT for services provided (assessed and submitted water damage claim for my holiday house), but I am a non-resident of Ireland. Is this accurate or an oversight? I received the bill today and his office is closed so cannot discuss it with him.

Any guidance will be gratefully accepted.

It dosent matter whther you are resident or not, you are chargeable. Remember if you buy a drink, you pay VAT on that regardless of residancy.

If you don't live here, you don't have to pay DIRT.
I was hoping that VAT would be the same.

Righty Oh. Better pay the man the VAT.
Imagine though ...................... your house gets devastated and then you have to pay the bastards who are responsible for you leaving the country 21% VAT of the assessing fee (which is almost a grand).
But I'm sure that they will put it to good use ............. this time.
