    hi,

i bought the Edimax 6210 http://www.edimax.com/en/produce_detail.php?pl1_id=1&pl2_id=2&pl3_id=170&pd_id=330 to use with my 3 mobile broadband Huawei E180. it works fine via wifi & ethernet with my laptop & phone but my satellite receiver doesnt seem to play nice with it

im using a dreambox dm800 and need this router to work as the box only has an ethernet connection. when i do a network test on the satellite box everything is as normal, except that it wont get an IP address. i've set everything up correctly for DHCP so it should do it automatically. when i plug in an ethernet cable from my ntl home broadband it works fine.

is it possible that 3 have certain ports blocked or is it the router? i have disabled the firewall on the router and still no joy.

or does anybody have experiences with a mobile broadband router & dreambox that i can buy?

    thanks
    adam

Can you give the dremabox an ip manually by going into communication setup?

I been wondering can it be done with mobile broadband

yeah i have the dreambox assigned a manual ip address and it shows up fine. but when i go into network test, it says IP ADDRESS - UNCONFIRMED. and i thought there might be some interference so i gave it a static ip address via the MAC number and still no joy.

I've had a number of problems with the edimax router and my 3g dongle.. I found that certain traffic causes the router to crap out. SIP traffic is one and I guess whichever ports/route your dreambox is having is another cause.

I ended up just building a router to use with my 3g dongle and the edimax is now just a wireless access point.

Hopefully they will release a firmware update to resolve a number of these issues.
