rem 700 feed problems

    hi
    looking for help i have a rem 700 .223 it loads through the top and has a floor plate when i put 5 rounds in the 1st and 2nd jam it seems when i close the bolt the round under the one that is to be chambered moves fowared and jams.
    any one know how to fix this

    try it with only four rounds only for a while,sounds like the spring under the mag follower hasn't softened up yet to accept the fifth round,
    also when loading the rounds every time you push one down slide it to the back of the mag

    when i load i do push every one right back. so do u think the spring is to strong should i try and push it down a bit

    you might get a problem with the last round if you do.

    one reason i dont like floor plates .

    try keeping your finger on the rounds untill the bolt in almost closed.

    you might never want 5 rounds ,unless you get into a fire fight

    open the floor plate and give the spring and follower a good work out by compressing it with your hand....Might soften things up a bit...;)

    had similar problem with my savage .223 your hardly using hollow points its the flat head that was the problem

    Softens up after a few rounds, better a little hard than too soft :
    don't worry about it, I have two remmy 700 both were the same at the start.;)
