Follow Up Online applications?

    Heya

I wonder if anyone could help with a quick query? I have applied for a few positions using the jobsites we are all familiar with. In the case where the actual employer has listed the post, would it make sense to follow up an "online" application for the job with a hard copy sent by post?

Sometimes I'm skeptical as to whether the employee/company ever get to see applications I make on these jobsites.

Would it be appropriate to send a written application for the "job as advertised on such and such recruitment website" aswell as having made an online application?

    Hi there

No, I don't think there is a need to send a hard copy of your application. But you do need to make your job application stand out from the crowd. That means a cover letter written specifically for the job, and a follow up e-mail or telephone call a few days later.
