Partition for reinstaling

    hi there is it easy to make a partition on laptop so if i ever need to reinstall i dont need the disks, cause i accedently deleated the orginal partition.

    Well, its easy to make one, and your data (restore partition) is probably still there. However the partition table would have to be restored to the way it was, so the file system thats in the now missing partition can be read. Do you know anyone with an identical laptop?

    If you can find someone with the same laptop and a live linux CD, you can copy the partition table to a USB stick with a command line like this

    dd if=/dev/hda of=/mnt/sda1 bs=512 count=1

    the output, "of=/mnt/sda1" may vary with the distribution

    a similar (reversed) command can restore the table on another (your?) machine

    Maybe I wasn't clear,so...

    If you post the model no etc details, someone reading this post may have access to an identical machine, and may be able (possibly with assistance) to help you.
    But if you don't identify it , they can't
