How much drink is needed to be defined "pissed"?

Hi all. I'm going out with some friends next week. I've never drank alcohol before but I'm willing to give it a shot (excuse the pun ). I know different people have different tolerances and different drinks are stronger than others but if we were to talk in pints, how many would you need to be defined "pissed"? I don't want to cross that line and make myself look like an idiot for the rest of the evening because I think everyone else will probably be sensible about it too.

There is no magic number of pints to get an individual pissed. Everybody is different. I was pissed on five cans of bud when I started drinking. Now I could have that before heading out.

About 28 drinks,

My last few drinks and I wasn't pissed just merry.

5 glasses of White wine, 2 Irish coffees, 4 vodka and redbulls, 3 brandys, 2 jd's and cokes, 4 double baileys and a few glasses of champagne..I'm sure I've forgotten some.

If you get the mix right you should be fine. Baileys or brandy are great inbetween drinks If your feeling a little pissed and need to slow down, crem Le monde and soda water is also great.

I'd say you should drink bottles instead of pints. That way you will more than likely be able to keep up with the rest of your mates. If you drink a bottle in the time it takes your mates to drink a pint you want fall to pieces trying to keep up with them. God speed Sir!

Bottles will blow the head off you the next day, I'd rather get a slap of a lump hammer than drink bottles! That and the make you look soft!
